Alvin Roy Hastings*

AUBURN -- Alvin Roy Hastings, 64, of Vienna, died early Friday morning at the Hospice House in Auburn., He was born in Chesterville on Feb. 21, 1947, a son of Charles P. and Linda M. (Mason) Hastings and received his education in Vienna schools. On. Nov. 19, 1966, he married Mary Lou Williams., Mr. Hastings was self-employed for a time and was known for working his "Magic" with a bulldozer. He had worked in construction for Cianbro, Bridge Corp, EL Vining and Son, and Pike Industries. Mr. Hastings most recently had been employed for Simscroft in Connecticut., He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He was a member of the North Vienna Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Vienna Fire Department where he served as captain at the time of his death., He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Lou of Vienna; a daughter, Michelle L. Pelton and her husband, Roger W. Jr. of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Nichole P. and Tianna D. Pelton, both of Mount Vernon, and Dawn L. Harris of Greenwood; sisters Virginia Wheeler of Chesterville, Florence Hastings of Peru, Linda Johnson and her husband, Chet, of Canton and Sharlene Stevens of Vienna; brother-in-laws, Floyd Stevens of Vienna and Raphael Rawlins of Wilton. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Charles Wheeler; a sister, Shirley A. Rawlins, and a brother, Charles Hastings, Jr., Condolences and tributes may be shared with the family at www.wilesrc.com. A memorial video will be available for viewing after visiting hours., Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the North Vienna Methodist Church with Pastor Laura Church officiating. Firefighter graveside ceremonies will follow the service at the North Franklin Cemetery, Tower Road, Vienna. Following services, a time of refreshment will be held at the North Vienna Methodist Church., Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington on Monday from 4 to7 p.m., In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who desire make memorial contributions to either the Vienna Fire Deptment, P.O. Box, Vienna, ME 04360 or to Mount Vernon Rescue, 7 Belgrade Road, Mount Vernon, ME 04352.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Monique V. Rivard, 74, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Lewiston, died Wednesday, April 27, at Vitas Hospice Center after a lingering illness. She is survived by her husband, Normand; and their five children, John, Linda, Barbara, Denise and Debora.
